Examples
This page contains some examples of work that I've done in the past few years both for fun and for hire.
- 3Dsolve FLV Video Player — 3Dsolve (http://www.3dsolve.com/) needed a more efficient way of displaying demonstration videos of their software from their web site. They had been using a Director Shockwave piece to stream Flash Video (FLV) but, it was a bit clunky and required the Director Shockwave browser plug-in. I wrote a FLash 7 FLV Player using components to replace their existing method.
- Novaco Provocation Inventory — The Novaco Provocation Inventory is the standard predictor of anger response. I did this simple form to brush up on JavaScript since I hadn't done any JavaScript programming in a while.
- Artists Resource Agency web site — This commercial web site for a talent agency is powered by ColdFusion with an Microsoft Access database. It was developed in Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. Graphics were created by Tom Diamond at 1st Floor Interactive using Photoshop 7. The web site is used by the business owner to help his clients find acting talent for TV or film. The owner reports a decrease in finding talent for his clients from 48 hours to 2 hours! The web site includes an administration application that allows the business owner to add, remove, and edit talent information through a web browser interface. I did all CFML, database design, database population, and graphic conversion.
- B2B Exclusive Business — A commercial web site for a business lead generation and management company. — A 3D technology demonstration for Periscope3 to use on their web site and on CD-ROM for sales calls. Done in Director 8.5, the 3D scene and the interface were created by Periscope3 staff artist Lance Woodward. 3D scene management was done via a pseudo-markup language created by Clint Little, the lead staff developer at Periscope3. Integration of media elements and custom programming by me.
- Toshiba Presenter 3.0 — A presentation tool for Toshiba America Information Systems' Telecommunication Systems Division. I designed the interface, CD label, static and animated media, and produced audio for all 470 audio files. This project was done in Director 8.0 with animations as Shockwave and all audio as Shockwave Audio. Conversion of AIFF audio files to Shockwave Audio (SWA) was accomplished through custom AppleScript to batch process files with SoundEdit 16 version 2.
- Advanced Body Mass Index Calculator — An exercise in JavaScript that calculates one's body mass index based on height and weight. Gives a body description based upon height, weight, and age.
- Sine Waves 2 — Always fascinated with math and the interaction of waves, I programmed this sine wave generator so that I could explore the interaction of various waves. I originally programmed this in Director 7 and used the MUI xtra to generate a window with slider controls. This version has been converted to Director 8 and uses sprite sliders so that it could be exported to Shockwave.
- Color Space — A tool to assist a salesman for Banta Corporation in describing a three dimensional color space to his customers.
